Our Thanksgiving Weekend

I'm grateful for this time of year, to reflect on my many blessings! I love the saying... "The best things in life are not things!" I love my family and am VERY grateful for them!

Mayli's turkey we made when playing "preschool" at home:)
I had to capture a picture of Breelyn going to town eating her chocolate pie at Thanksgiving. My girls are such picky eaters! They both ate a roll and of course all their pie.

We got our Christmas stuff up the day after Thanksgiving. It's our first year with lights on the house and our very own artificial tree.
Mayli's quite the decorater:)

Ryan turns 29!

My cute hubby celebrated his last birthday in his twenties. He wasn't thrilled about that idea:) Everyone kept telling him he was getting old. We make a BIG deal of each others b-days, usually he always out does me, so this year I made sure to make it a great one. We celebrated all weekend long!!

Mayli 's card she made for daddy and the heart box she painted filled with his fav....cashews!
Breakfast time. I made scones and home made honey butter with yogurt parfaits. My mom came over and gave him these silky pillow cases she sewed for him. (I think it's to help with reducing wrikles J/K)

That afternoon I surprized Ry with a gift card for IFLY at the Salomon Center in Ogden. (Well I thought I surprized him, Mayli had told him the day before that aunt Carley was coming to babysit her and he got to go fly with mommy like Tinkerbelle does but without wings. I'll have to be a bit more careful what I tell her.)

AFterward, we went to the Gateway and enjoyed dinner, shopping and a movie without the kids. I hope you had a great day babe!

Sunday was his real birthday. After church we had his family over for dinner and cake. I made German Chocolate, one of his favorites:)

Birthday Lunch!

We went out to lunch with my sisters for my mom's 50th birthday. Doesn't she look too young to be fifty?! We love you mom:)

My girls absolutely LOVE their Grandma Stevens!!

A trip to the Zoo!

We took advantage of the beautiful 70 degree weather we had in November and visted the Zoo! What a great time to go.... no crowds & beautiful scenery. Thanks to our wonderful friends, the Smith girls, for taking us up on our offer. It was a last minute plan but we had a wonderful time!!

I think Mayli like the statues more than the real animals:)

There were so many "new arrivals" at the Zoo. Here is the baby elephant, isn't it cute?! There was also a baby, giraffe, monkey, & alligater.

hAlLoOwEeN nIgHt!

It was our 4th yr. in a row celebrating Halloween night in Orem with the Hatch family. It's always so fun to see what grandpa and grandma Hatch are dressed up like. We had a delicious dinner, trick or treated, and came back to pig out on candy, donuts, carmel popcorn, cookies etc. Is this the most fatening holiday or what?? (Thanksgiving is right up there on the list too!) It was a great Halloween, even Ryan and I got dressed up:)

I forgot to add this pic to the earlier post of the Kiddie Carnival. It's Mayli and her friend Riley. It was way too cute to not include!

Mayli with her trick or treating buddy/cousin, Buzz Light Year (aka- Chase).

Grandma Hatch makes a great clown, don't you think?!

Love the dreads, Grandpa Hatch!

Our family:
Ryan as Captain Hook
Crystal as Peter Pan
Mayli as Tinkerbelle
Breelyn as Silvermist (blue fairy)
Mayli's cousin Keelie, came after we had trick or treated. She was all dolled up as Cinderella. I had to laugh because by this time, Mayli had already lost her tinkerbelle costume and dressed herself up in one of the dress up outfits from grandma's play room and joined Keelie for trick or treating, round two:)

Aunt Denise, Chase and baby Josslyn

Uncle Chris was under all that pink fur. He really gave the little kids a scare!

What a cute lil fairy!

Halloween all week long!

We had a lot going on the week of Halloween! Here are a few of the fun things we did....

We went to Dinosaur Park with our old neighbors, the Smith's. It was all decked out for Halloween! Mayli loved hanging out with her friend Belle. We have missed them!

The neighborhood trunk or treat. I hid their costumes with coats because it was cold!

Bree lost a shoe....she's not cinderella, she's Silvermist (the blue fairy from the Tinkerbelle movie)

Trick or Treating at Ry's work. We had lunch after and watched "Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin." FYI: Ryan is dressed up in this picture like his manager.

It was our 4th year hitting up Grandma Steven's work for trick or treating:)

Carving pumpkins with the girls!

Breelyn's so proud of her pumpkin!

Playing in the slimy goo.

We had a fun kiddie, Halloween Carnival with some of my friends and their kids. Here the kids are playing a bean bag toss (actually, a fruit snack toss)

Another game was eating donuts on a string. Mayli cheated a little bit:)
My game was the spooky cupcake walk. Here are the scary eyeball cupcakes we made. The kids had a ball! We had a pinata and pot luck lunch. Thanks to all who came!

WiTcHeS nIgHt OuT!

We had a fun night out with the family at Gardner Village. It was witches night out, where lots of people came decked out in their best witch attire. It was pretty cool to see. The girls also did the pony rides, petting zoo, and hay maze. This is what Mayli had to say about it, "Mom I like all the animals but not the witches!" We'll definitely try to make this one of our Halloween traditions.

I guess Mays like the pretend witches

Mayli picked the smallest pony, Charly. Breelyn wouldn't stay on her pony long enough to even snap a pic:(

This pic is of Bree picking up the bark chips. I think she was more interested in how they tasted than the animals...yuck!

Help we're lost in the maze!
